9 June 2010: BNAPEX Show Covers.
|
|
We have just finished creating a number of show covers for BNAPEX 2010. There are four basic covers, which can be seen by clicking here.
They will all have the Victoria Centenary stamp (Canada # 399), which will be cancelled with the historic Victoria Flag cancel, showing the date Sept. 3. Rubber hand stamps of the Victoria PAID cancel and the Victoria Coat of Arms Cancel can be used to further enhance the red 5 cent and the blue 10 cent covers if desired.
|
These covers are all No. 8 size and will be sold for $2.50 each. They will be available at the exhibition, and mailed or e-mailed orders will be shipped right after the convention. All orders should be addressed to:
Peter Jacobi, #6 - 2168 - 150 A Str., Surrey, BC, V4A 9W4, Canada
Postal stationery collectors can send their blank covers with instructions as to how they wish the Flag cancel and / or the other two cancels applied.

23 May 2010: Bourse Chairman Tom Watkins advises that three more dealers - Jim Miller Ltd., Coates and Coates and the BNAPS Book Department (Ian Kimmerly) - have booked tables. There are still three bourse tables left; Tom hopes to sign up additional dealers at Royal-2010-Royale in Windsor, Ontario this week.
Registrations for 20 members and 14 spouses have been received.
Members are encouraged to review the Events, Seminar and Tour schedules and register as soon as possible.
BNAPEX 2010 show covers will feature a Victoria flag cancel made especially for the convention.
2 May 2010: After dinner speaker.
We have just engaged our after dinner speaker for Saturday, Sept. 4 at the Union Club in Victoria. She is Ms. Danda Humphreys who will give us her talk on Victoria, a Lady with a Past!
Danda Humphreys is a Victoria author, historian, storyteller, and guide. She has written four best selling books about the early history of the city and conducts walking tours through Victoria's downtown. On Saturday evening Danda will give us an entertaining peek into the past with stories about the early European settlement of Victoria and some of the colourful characters who came here 170 years ago.
We are sure BNAPSers will enjoy this addition to the convention program.
12 April 2010: BNAPEX 2010 organization and planning is going well.
